Special regime exempts taxes, requires clean energy, and promises to attract billions in investments for cities like Uberlândia
The government published Provisional Measure No. 1,318/2025, which creates the Special Tax Regime for Data Center Services (Redata). The measure eliminates federal taxes on equipment, requires the use of renewable energy, and provides for investments in research. The tax benefits, amounting to R$ 5.2 billion by 2026, are expected to accelerate the arrival of data centers dedicated to artificial intelligence.
